Table Topic: Open Innovation Workshop on the Future of Data Value
Abstract: The monetization of data has led to a deeper look into the actual value of data. Dr. Jim Short of the San Diego Supercomputer Center has spent the last three years exploring data’s value and recently published his findings in MIT’s Sloan Management Review. This session will focus on some of the key findings from this study, step through several use cases of assigning value to data (economic or otherwise), and take a look at emerging data marketplaces and the role of cryptocurrencies in relation to data’s value.
Table Chairs: Solomon Darwin, Garwood Center for Corporate Innovation
