Dr. Arding Hsu was born in Hong Kong, grew up in Taiwan and educated in the US with a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. He worked for Siemens globally for 31 years in several key positions, including Sr. Vice President, Siemens China, where he built Siemens Corporate Research from 30 to 400 people in 5 cites. Dr. Hsu was President & CEO, TTB and Founded Siemens Technology-To-Business (TTB) Center in Berkeley, California in 1999, which pioneered pull open innovation with startups. Prior to taking the reins at TTB, Dr. Hsu was the Department Head at Siemens Corporate Research in Princeton, New Jersey where he built up a Multimedia/Video technology department, which was rated one of the top multimedia research groups in the US. In 2014, Dr. Hsu retired and since then dedicates part of his time to working with entrepreneurs on innovation and technology commercialization. He serves as a Senior Innovation Strategy Advisor at thyssenkrupp AG. He is Founding Investor & Advisor at The Batchery – a high-tech startup incubator in Berkeley, California.; A Senior Research Fellow, Institute for Global Industry 4.5, Tsinghua University; and a course advisor at UC Berkeley’s Haas Business School.
Ambassador V. Ashok

Ambassador V. Ashok, Indian Foreign Service, retired in the rank of Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India in October 2018, after serving for 36 years in various capacities in countries around the world, including as Ambassador of India to the Czech Republic and to the Republic of Zimbabwe. He also served as India’s alternate governor and alternate permanent representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Vienna, following a stint at the Department of Atomic Energy, Mumbai. Amb. Ashok is a graduate in Civil Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He speaks Chinese, apart from various Indian languages. He is married and has a son. He has authored a book, Dasavatara – The Ten Avatars of Vishnu. He is currently Senior Advisor and Fellow, Garwood Center for Corporate Innovation, Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley, USA. He is also Adjunct Professor, Centre for Urban Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and Guest Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar.
