Indian multinationals learned about open innovation at the Garwood where Arun Sarin, Haas Alum and former CEO of Vodafone was the keynote speaker. The special event was hosted at Garwood. Global Advanced Management Program, organized by The All India Management Association (AIMA) in Silicon Valley, May 19 – 25, 2013. GAMP is AIMA’s international management development program for middle to senior level executives. It is aimed at helping the participants achieve exceptional results in a rapidly changing global marketplace. The theme for the program was “Disruptive Innovation & Open Business Models in The Changing Global Landscape”. Professor Darwin helped participants gain insight into the latest models and frameworks for understanding business problems and learn how to devise specific strategies for identifying new opportunities and capitalizing on them. He guided indepth discussions and provided highly informed views. He also organized site visits and meetings/discussions with the senior management of world-renowned organizations to give participants a firsthand overview. Participants created business plans for their organizations keeping in mind the emerging realities of the global markets. The key takeaway of the program was creation of implementable plans for disruptive innovation and adoption of open business models in their respective organizations. The program kicked off with an address by Mr. N. Parthasarathi, Consul General of India. Other key speakers included: P.K. Agarwal, Chief Executive Officer, TiE Global; Kanwal Rekhi, Managing Director, Inventus Capital Partners; Arun Sarin, Former CEO, Vodafone Group plc; Vivek Wadhwa, Vice President of Innovation and Research, Singularity University; and Vishal Gondal, Founder & CEO, Indiagames.
